Analysis of the problems faced by the smart light pole industry
Although the smart light pole industry is in the forefront of the industry, its related policies and industry standards are basically blank, the market demand is not clear, and the profit model is not clear, which makes it difficult for most companies to carry out large-scale promotion.
The protection of relevant laws and regulations is not perfect. Local policies are mostly based on departmental regulations, with low legal status, weak legal effect, insufficient specific content, poor operability, and low reference in practical applications.
The construction and operation model is not clear, and various departments lack the interconnection of information resources. Since the smart light pole solution involves different fields such as meteorology, transportation, urban construction, and advertising management, and these fields are under the management of different institutions and departments in China, the leading department, construction department and operation department are not clear, which leads to the operators’ The business communication and coordination between the different departments involved is extremely complicated.
The lack of funding sources cannot satisfy the comprehensive construction of smart poles for smart city. The construction of smart light poles lacks funding sources, government financing is insufficient, and transformation lacks a large amount of capital investment. The construction period of smart light poles is long, the expected return is low, the investment payback period is long, the project risk is high, and self-financing is difficult to succeed. These problems have caused enterprises to remain cautious about the investment in smart light poles.
The market demand is not clear, and the demand for various functional modules is inconsistent. First, there are common needs. Street lights led need to meet the most basic energy-saving lighting needs; secondly, the role of smart light poles is not limited to led lighting. Industry needs put forward more requirements on them, such as urban environmental monitoring, video surveillance, and wireless Networks, information release, emergency calls, charging piles, micro base stations, etc., may only need a few full-function smart light poles in a project, and the rest of the light poles only integrate led lighting plus some functional modules.
The quality of smart light pole products is uneven. Due to the short development time of the smart light pole industry, it is currently mostly in the pilot demonstration stage, the industry lacks a unified quality standard, and the product quality is uneven. At the same time, smart light pole manufacturers lack independent intellectual property rights, their technical strength is generally insufficient, and compatibility and versatility in platform applications are poor, and it is difficult for customers to measure when choosing smart light poles.
