Beijing "Cloud" Energy Conservation Promotion Week is officially launched, 40 communities will pilot recycling of small and old home appliances

From August 23 to August 29 this year is the 31st National Energy Conservation Promotion Week, with the theme of "Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction, Green Development". On August 23, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Beijing Municipal People's Government jointly held the 2021 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week and Beijing Energy Conservation Publicity Week online launching ceremony, opening the "Cloud" Energy Conservation Publicity Week.

Energy conservation is an important way for Beijing to implement new development concepts, promote high-quality development, and promote carbon emission reduction and carbon neutrality. The relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission stated that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Beijing's energy utilization efficiency continued to improve, exceeding the state's "dual control" targets for total energy consumption and intensity, and achieving higher energy consumption with lower energy consumption. With economic growth, the energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP in 2020 will drop by about 24% compared to 2015, reaching 0.21 tons of standard coal, which has always maintained the best level in the provinces of the country.

LED lamp has the characteristics of energy saving, environmental protection and long life. It is a new generation of lighting source after compact fluorescent lamp (that is, ordinary energy saving lamp). Compared with ordinary energy saving lamp, the energy saving rate is about 50%. Compared with incandescent lamp, LED light is energy saving. The electricity rate is about 75%, which not only saves electricity but also saves money. During the energy-saving publicity week, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission will cooperate with Suning.com and JD.com to organize and carry out pilot activities for the promotion of LED lighting households to guide and encourage more households to use LED lights to help save energy and reduce emissions.
