Authoritatively announced that domestic GDP in the first half of the year fell by 1.6% year-on-year. What about the lighting industry?

On July 16, the State Information Office held a press conference. Liu Aihua, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics and Director of the General Statistics Department of the National Economy, introduced the operation of the national economy in the first half of 2020. So, how did the national economy operate in the first half of the year? What about the led lighting industry trends?

According to preliminary calculations, the gross domestic product in the first half of the year was 4,566.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6% at comparable prices. In terms of quarters, the first quarter fell by 6.8% year-on-year, and the second quarter increased by 3.2%. In terms of industries, the added value of the primary industry was 265.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%; the added value of the secondary industry was 17,275.9 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.9%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 2,57802 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.6%. From a month-on-month perspective, the gross domestic product in the second quarter increased by 11.5%.

From January to May 2020, the operating income of led lighting fixture manufacturers above designated size nationwide was 113.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 18.1%; the total profit realized was 5.58 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 27.9%.

From January to May 2020, among the main products of the national lighting manufacturing industry, 1.33 billion sets (sets, pieces) of lamps and lighting devices were completed, a year-on-year decrease of 23.5%. Among them, in April, the national output of led lighting devices was 330 million sets (units, units), a year-on-year decrease of 7.8%; in May, the national output of lighting led devices was 310 million sets (units, units), a year-on-year decrease of 12 %.
From January to May 2020, the total export value of China's lighting industry was 14.829 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 14.04%, which was nearly 4 percentage points narrower than the decline from January to April. Among them, the cumulative export value of general electric LED lighting products from January to May was 9.803 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 13.36%, which was 5.03 percentage points narrower than the decline from January to April.
