Smart lighting technology and product application problems still exist and cannot be ignored

The current technical direction of the smart lighting industry has gradually matured, and the industry chain is also becoming mature, but as far as its current development is concerned, it is facing some bottlenecks and challenges in technology and product applications.

At the product application level, smart lighting needs to gradually form an industry standard. Standards must cover the entire process of "research, production, sales, and use" and lower the threshold for industrialization in order to truly promote the rapid development of the smart lighting industry.

At present, the main problem facing smart lighting is that the protocol standards are not unified, and it is also the primary obstacle to the development of the smart lighting industry. The
smart led products of the major lighting companies operate independently, and it is difficult to communicate with other hardware and platforms, which not only reduces the user experience, makes it difficult for users to choose, but also affects the popularization and promotion of smart lighting products. As a result, the formulation of the “open link association” (“OLA”) is aiming to solve the interconnection of various platforms' problems. After the agreement is put into effect, this obstacle can be resolved, providing consumers with interconnected smart products and enhancing smart experience.

Especially in terms of the interface of AIoT technology applications, a common interface and unified standard has not been established between different intelligent modules, which has a certain restrictive effect on the development of chips. All lighting companies should determine the interface standard and jointly implement a plan to solve this problem. Based on this foundation to develop chips, it will get twice the result with half the effort.

In addition, in the context of the development of the Internet of Things, the LED driver chip not only controls the power supply, dimming, and color adjustment of the
LED lights, but will also become the "brain" of smart lighting. In the intelligent age, specific lighting effects are output according to the needs of different individuals and different scenarios, which has become the core element of the development of intelligent lighting.

From the driver level, the main technical difficulties faced by smart lighting include lower depth requirements, excellent low-end consistency, zero standby, compatibility, and so on. With the use of better chip design algorithms and better semiconductor process support, these problems will gradually be solved.

But compared to mature general lighting, smart lighting is still in the initial stage of development. LED light source provides a variety of options for intelligent lighting, which can be suitable for different use environments, including remote control solutions, intelligent voice, induction lighting, touch lighting and other forms of
led lighting.

The development of smart lighting must be integrated with the Internet. How to integrate smart lighting and smart home more closely to meet customer experience and be accepted by more end customers is a very big challenge. At present, many companies are adopting a variety of cooperation methods to promote the development of smart lighting, and we believe there will be a suitable solution soon.
