1. Simple and reliable communication structure
The DALI interface communication protocol consists of 19 bits, the 1st bit is the start bit, the 2nd to 9th bits are the address bits, the 10th to 17th bits are data, and the 18th and 19th bits are stop bits. It uses the unique Manchester code to prevent bit errors. The different devices will not disturb each other because of the 1200 baud transmission rate. And the high level of the control line is 16V. Each controller on the control line acts as a MASTER function in communication, and the control appliances such as ballasts on the control line only respond to the command of the MASTER to play the role of SLAVE, and the system has a distributed intelligent function.
2. Simple and easy to design
With a simple design, the DALI digital control system only needs to be connected to each other through the digital signal interface and connected to the 2-core control line in parallel. All groups and scenes can be programmed by computer software during installation and debugging, which not only saves wiring costs but also only needs to change software settings for re-layout, modifying the design, and separation with no needs to re-wire, which are quite easy and convenient to achieve.
3. Precise and reliable control
DALI is a digital signal. The signal of 1010 can realize disturbance-free control, and the control signal will not be distorted due to the long-distance voltage drop. Therefore, even if the DALI digital signal control line and the strong wire are run in the same line, it will not be affected. disturbed. The DALI signal is bidirectional transmission, which not only transmits control commands forward, but also feeds back information on the status of ballasts and lamps, fault information, switches, and actual brightness values to the system.
4. Simple and economical installation
DALI interface includes two control lines and two main power lines. There are no special requirements for the wires, and there is no polarity requirement during installation. We need to isolate the main control line and the power line. Control wires do not need to be shielded. The line current is 250mA, and the voltage drop does not exceed 2V when the line length is 300 meters. Power lines and control lines can be set in parallel, no additional buried wires are needed. The installation is economical and easy since the control unit is compact and doesn't require a control cabinet.
