After the multi-pole-in-one new street lamp was promoted on Nanhu Avenue, Huanhu Road and other roads, the city’s street lamp improvement has taken a new action-a "micro happiness" people’s livelihood project has been put into action, targeting all the old and damaged street lights on all roads in the urban area. Carry out rectification and return the street lights to have a clean and beautiful appearance to better illuminate the citizens' journeys at night. It is learned from the Municipal Municipal and Landscape Bureau that, so far, the street lights of more than 110 major municipal roads in the urban area have basically been renovated. It is expected that this "micro happiness" project will be fully completed by the end of this month. By then, the streets and alleys of the entire urban area will be cleaner during the day and brighter at night.
The change of street lights is particularly obvious in the downtown area. For more than ten years, the city's only 127 long "diamond lights" have been lined up along the Jiefang Ring Road, adding an iconic landscape to the core business district with its unique shape. Due to the complex structure, the difficulty of cleaning and maintenance is the "price of beauty" for diamond lamps. Many diamond lamps have their lampshades covered with dust and are no longer transparent, and the metal parts of the lamp poles are rusty, and even suffer from "psoriasis" small advertisements. Recently, the Municipal Lighting and Drainage Management Center organized maintenance units to carry out special renovations on the lighting facilities of 13 downtown roads, including Jiefanghuan Road, Zhongshan Road, and Renmin Road, scrubbing lamps, cleaning light poles, removing rust and repainting, and more than 1,100 sets of street lights.
The iconic diamond lamp of Jiefanghuan Road has also reproduced its "youth". During the renovation period, 130 sets of large diamond lamps and 60 sets of small diamond lamps were replaced. For this reason, a batch of models that are not available on the market have been re-molded. After cleaning the rusty poles, they were repainted and coated with an anti-sticking “protective film” that can easily tear off small advertisements. Some street lights with aging and defective GIS labels were also replaced with new “identity cards”. "Now the street led lights are brighter at night, and you don't have to walk as cautiously as before." Old man Tao Shugui, who goes to Donglin Square to exercise after dinner every day, told reporters about the recent changes with joy.
It is reported that in parallel with the renovation of road lighting facilities, there are also street lamp upgrades in old communities, involving 129 communities in 19 streets including Chong'an Temple Street in Liangxi District, Qingmingqiao Street, and Rongxiang Street in Binhu District. These communities will be combined with the renovation of old communities to renovate the internal street lights. Nearly 30 of them will also renovate lighting facilities such as overhead lines and short rack lights that were originally erected on cement poles into the ground, and reinstall metal poles and LED courtyard lights to ensure lighting safety, improve the community environment, and illuminate every step of the residents home.
