What is the key point of the Building efficiency?-Control

Control is the key factor to lighting success. When discussing LED lighting design and led lights product selection, control is the most important. Lighting control is an integrated programmable system that allows led luminaires to provide the correct light level at the correct time to maximize led lighting efficiency. They can actually be broken down into levels that allow management of lighting system options.

The first level can be described as relying on manual adjustment, where the user can manage individual programmed occupancy sensors or non-programmable ceiling sensors. On this basic control layer, there is no ability to control the lighting level except for a simple led wall dimmer switch. The second layer allows for wireless integration directly from led fixtures to equipment. This level of control may include sensors that can recognize the occupancy and vacancy of the room and change the level according to the selected setting. In other words, a vacant room will reduce the light level by a certain amount to save energy.

The second level of controls also allows high-end fine-tuning or output adjustments to the led lights. Since lighting LED lamps usually produce higher lumen output than the lamps they replace, the output of the lamps led lights can be increased to meet the standard demands of space. At the same time, trimming can solve the problem of LED degradation over time and provide the light level originally required. The low-end trim defines the minimum brightness level and ensures that the lights led will not turn off when dimmed to the minimum capacity. For example, this is important for data center facilities because they contain rows of devices that can make it impossible for people to control motion sensors. If the system enters the vacant mode, the trim can prevent all lights from turning off and cause safety hazards. The design may include an adjustment to 10%, which will provide visibility even if the sensor is blocked and the light led is not at the optimal level. In addition, data centers usually control lighting by using separate auxiliary sensors to group fixtures according to various needs and program different devices. This allows concurrency to be controlled and can be recombined according to the layout of the space.

The highest level of control includes all the benefits mentioned in the second level, as well as the additional benefits of being directly integrated into the building management system. In other words, building managers may make their HVAC systems directly respond to occupancy sensors used in LED lighting systems, which will provide finer control over the entire mechanical system of the building. According to the needs of the space, the controls can be used as a powerful way to customize the lighting, rather than the initial product selection and installation.

Efficient LED lighting projects are custom-designed to meet the needs of buildings, residents, and work performed. Design and product selection are the pinnacle of any successful project. Therefore, because each project is unique in size, shape, and geographic location, each project requires unique solutions, and the design of these solutions takes into account all the characteristics and needs of its lighting.
