Cleaning for lamps.
LED light without regular cleaning will come with 20% brightness reduction in 1 year.
Lamps and lanterns are essential household items, and most people don't usually pay attention to them, but the cleaning and maintenance of lights and lanterns in the living room, bedroom, special bathroom, and kitchen are actually very important. In addition to ceiling lamps, the recently popular irregular Nordic living room lamps are made of different materials, and the cleaning methods are different. We would like to share with you the cleaning and maintenance methods of 5 lamps!
Consequences of not maintaining the lamps:
Lighting lamps will reduce the brightness if they are not cleaned or maintained for a long time. When the lampshade is dirty for a long time, the brightness will drop by 20% in one year. In places where there is a lot of fume and dirt, such as the kitchen, the brightness of the lamp will drop by 40% if it is not maintained for one year, so we suggest to clean them at least once a year.
5 ways to clean lamps
I. LED lamps
LED lights are energy-efficient and stable, and are also suitable for different interior design styles. They are now very popular in Hong Kong home furnishings. However, Lamps LED should not be dipped in water, and are usually installed in dry places such as living rooms or bedrooms. The cleaning method cannot be washed with water. The following methods can be used to clean:
● Sweep the LED fixtures with a dry cloth and dust
● The more stubborn dirt can be wiped with a dry cloth dampened with a little water and dried immediately
II. Glass lamps
Glass lamps are a common style of lamps, and their transparency will enhance the style of the home, but the dirt and dust are very conspicuous. The following cleaning methods can be used for glass lamps:
● First check whether the lampshade is detachable.
● Detachable type: just wash with water and wipe dry.
● Non-detachable type: special cleaning cloth for glass, or glass cleaner for scrubbing.
III. Metal lamps
Recently, industrial and Nordic interior design styles are popular. These design style lamps are mostly made of metal materials, highlighting their neat feeling. The cleaning method of metal lamps is as follows:
● Regularly wipe off the dust with a dust filter.
● If there are mimeographs or dirt: wipe with a slightly damp cloth in the same direction, and then lightly wipe with a dry cloth to avoid damp, rust or paint peeling off the lamp.
Note: Avoid directly using a rag to wipe the metal surface vigorously, because the dust particles may scratch the metal surface, which will make the reflective effect of the lamp worse for a long time. In addition, if there is a fogging problem, you can use furniture maintenance wax to wipe the metal surface in a circle to improve the gloss of the lamp.
IV. Cloth lamps
Fabric lamps are more common in table lamps and upright floor lamps, showing a soft and elegant feeling, but the cloth surface is easy to accumulate dust, and it is well known that cleaning requires diligence. Most of the cloth lampshades can be removed and washed. The following is the cleaning method for cloth lamps:
● Use a vacuum cleaner, dust remover, etc. to remove surface dust
● Wipe with a dry cloth dampened with furniture cleaner
Note: Pay attention to the material of the cloth-surfaced lamps first. Some cloth-surfaced lamps are made of paper inside, so they are not suitable for cleaning with furniture cleaners.
V. Crystal lamps
Crystal lamps are expensive, and in order to maintain their beauty, they must be cleaned more carefully. In order to show the beauty of crystal lamps, most of them are complicated in structure, so if you need to clean it yourself:
● Spray a special cleaner for crystals, so that the dust on the surface of the lamp will be taken away with the volatilization of the liquid
● Or wipe it with a damp towel dipped in a special detergent
● If the lamp is stained with stubborn dirt such as grease, it is recommended to find someone to deal with it directly
Lamp maintenance 2 Tips
1. Do not switch lamps frequently
At the moment the lamp is started, the current passing through the filament will be greater than the current under normal operation, which will cause the temperature of the filament to rise sharply. Therefore, frequent switching of the lamp will reduce its life, and the lamp should be turned on and off as much as possible.
2. Protect lamps from moisture
In wet and dirty places, the lamp will be prone to rust and shorten the life of the lamp. Therefore, it is necessary to install moisture-proof lampshades in the lamps in toilets and bathrooms and in front of the gas stove in the kitchen to prevent the lamps from being affected by moisture, and to avoid rust damage or leakage short circuits.
