Do you really understand what a switching power supply is?
The widely used switching power supply is an important part of electronic design. Small size, light weight, and high efficiency are the focus of future development. To achieve these requirements, we have to understand the characteristics of the switching power supply.
Switching power supply products are widely used in industrial automation control, military equipment, scientific research equipment, LED lighting (like led light panel, led recessed lights, down lights led, Multi-Color Led Tunnel Light, LED illumination in tunnels, Solar Powered Street Flood Light and etc), industrial control equipment, communication equipment, power equipment, instrumentation, medical equipment, semiconductor refrigeration and heating, air purifiers, electronic refrigerators, liquid crystal displays, audio-visual products, security monitoring, computer cases, digital products and other fields.
Switching power supply uses electronic switching devices (such as transistors, field-effect transistors, thyristors, etc.) to make the electronic switching devices "on" and "off" continuously through the control circuit, so that the electronic switching devices can interact with each other. The input voltage is pulse-modulated to realize electric energy conversion. The transformation of electric energy includes:
1. AC/DC.
Convert AC to DC. usually 220V, two-phase AC or 380V, three-phase AC from the grid into DC. The AC input of low-power AC/DC is 220V, and the AC input of high-power is 380V. According to different application industries and occasions, it is also called AC/DC converter, rectifier, primary power supply, communication power supply, power adapter, lighting power supply, led driver and etc.
2. DC/DC.
Convert direct current to direct current. For example, it may be called DC/DC converter, secondary power supply, module power supply, on-board power supply, etc. according to different application industries and occasions.
3. DC/AC.
Converts DC to AC. Depending on the application industry and occasion, it may be called UPS, inverter, grid-connected inverter, motor controller, etc.
4. AC/AC.
Convert AC to AC. The usual product form is frequency converter, which is used for motor control.
In the AC/DC, DC/DC industry market corresponding to the two directions, industry insiders call it "switching power supply". Specific industries have relatively high-end primary power supplies (also called communication power supplies, but the meaning of communication power supplies seems to be broader. ), generally specifically refers to the 48V power supply, secondary power supply, customized power supply, electric power supply, computer power supply, laptop computer and other electrical equipment power adapters, mobile phone charger power supply, charging pile power supply, car charger (OBC, on-board charger), vehicle-mounted DC/DC converter, lighting power supply (can be divided into LED power supply, electronic ballast, HID power supply), etc. Corresponding to the industry market of DC/AC and AC/AC, people generally say that they are UPS, photovoltaic (converting direct current from photovoltaic panels to alternating current), energy storage, inverter, and motor control of the device.
