The reporter visited the scene and also contacted the relevant responsible unit. According to reports, the responsible unit has also received feedback from citizens, and has now begun to prepare corresponding countermeasures, and plans to start debugging the guardrail lights in the near future, and strive to solve the problem as soon as possible.
"The height of the light is almost level with my line of sight, which really affects the line of sight." Recently, Mr. Zhang, a citizen, drove the car on the Xiamen Bridge towards the island to go home. After driving, he gradually felt discomfort in his eyes. He said that the height of the guardrail lights is similar to the height of the driver's eyes when sitting in the car seat, and the lights are particularly strong and dazzling. Driving a vehicle in such a situation actually poses a certain safety hazard.
In addition to Mr. Zhang, many citizens also said that the light is indeed slightly stronger, especially when the speed is relatively fast, and dizziness after watching for a long time. "I have a little astigmatism. It is not very convenient to drive at night. Once I got on the bridge, the light dazzled me too uncomfortably." Citizen Miss Ye also talked about her troubles.
At 8 pm on the 12th, the reporter drove to the Xiamen Bridge and saw that the guardrail light was located about above the rearview mirror of the vehicle, with a visual height of about 1.2 meters, almost flush with the driver’s line of sight in the car cab, and the light was white and strong. When the vehicle is moving forward at a speed of 60km/h, the lights on both sides move backwards at a fast speed. There are indeed some problems that affect the line of sight.
The reporter went to Jimei Bridge and found through visual inspection that the height of the guardrail lights of the bridge did not differ much from that of the Xiamen Bridge. However, the LED light line of the guardrail on the Jimei Bridge is warm yellow, which, in contrast, will not cause too much discomfort to the eyes.
Regarding the situation reported by the public, the reporter contacted Mr. Chen, the relevant person in charge of the Xiamen Bridge Reconstruction Project Department of Shangluqiao Group. Mr. Chen said that he has also received feedback from some citizens on guardrail lights. "At present, we are also paying close attention to collecting relevant data and information, using various indicators for collecting lights on the bridge when there are few vehicles in the middle of the night, and will make corresponding adjustments to solve the public's troubles."
Mr. Chen mentioned that each bridge has a different design. For example, the Jimei Bridge lighting uses pole street lights, while the bridge guardrail lights are only landscape lights. The Xiamen Bridge 3-lane lighting uses both side guardrail lights, because the LED lighting has just been installed, it still needs to be installed. Further debugging, corresponding debugging will be carried out as soon as possible for the lighting problems of the guardrail lights on the Xiamen Bridge. "Next we will step up debugging and solve the glare problem caused to the driver as soon as possible."
