The outdoor upgrade project of Chaozhou People’s Square has started. The project includes renovation and reinforcement of the archway, replacement of sunken stage and weather corridor lighting, upgrading of green landscape and installation of guardrails, etc. The entire project is expected to be completed before China‘s National Day.
　　
Yesterday afternoon, the reporter saw in People's Square that the arches on the east and west sides of the square were surrounded by construction fences, and the construction staff were setting up scaffolding and preparing to renovate and strengthen the arches.
　　
The person in charge of the Chaozhou People’s Square Management Office introduced to reporters that there are 4 modern archways on the east and west sides of the People’s Square. These archways have been exposed to wind, sun and rain for many years, and their appearance is old, especially the lettering on the archways, such as "Seaside Zoulu", "Hanshui Yaoguang", "Famous City Yonghui", etc., are blurred due to the fall of gold leaf This time, it will be renovated and the steel structure inside the archway will be overhauled and reinforced to protect the lives of citizens.
　　
In addition to the renovation and reinforcement of the archway, the project will also replace the sinking stage and the wind and rain lighting of corridor. "Before due to technical limitations, the lamps installed under the sunken stage glass were 220V high-voltage old lamps. This time we will remove all the old lamps and replace them with safer and energy-saving 24V low-voltage LED lamps." The person in charge said. At the same time, synchronously replace the glass with low light transmittance and breakage on the stage table. The old lamps on the wind and rain corridors on the east and west sides of the square will also be replaced with 24V LED low-voltage lights.
　　
Pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, and electric vehicles traverse the green belt, causing "alopecia areata" in many places in the green belt. This is a persistent problem in the management of People's Square. Although there were multiple reminders on the green belt before, the effect was minimal. In order to solve this problem to the greatest extent, the Municipal People's Square Management Office took advantage of this project to install stainless steel guardrails about 1 meter high on the periphery of the green belt around the square.
　　
At present, all guardrails have been installed and the total length of the guardrails is more than 800 meters. The green belts that were previously damaged by humans have also been completely repaired and new green plants have been planted.
